Among the Japanese, Formula Nippon is similar to the Formula One racing which has been considered as a “stepping stone” for drivers to be known and groomed to be a Formula One drivers.
The organizers of Formula Nippon had decided to host a car racing event for the first time back in 2004. Malaysia was the chosen partner and Sepang International Circuit was identified as the venue to hold this.
The organizers needed the services of an experienced total logistics provider to import and re-export the engines to Japan. After deliberation, MASkargo Logistics (then known as PKUM) was appointed to provide the total logistics services taking into the account that its experiences and expertises in handling sensitive and expensive equipments.
- Safely and expertly handle the cargo of 30 engines from Tokyo and Nagoya that included transporting them from the Advanced Cargo Centre to the Sepang International Circuit.
- Provide all customs clearances and documentations management.
- Retrieving the engines after the event and sending them back to Japan.
It is an achievement for MASkargo Logistics’ to be recognised by an organisation involved in the sensitive sport to appoint us as its total logistics provider although there are Japanese forwarding agents operating in Malaysia.
